  Bishop Jack Iker

Bishop Jack Iker

Bishop Iker was consecrated as Bishop Coadjutor of The Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth on April 24, 1993, and became Diocesan Bishop on January 1, 1995. 

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, he had served as Rector of the Church of the Redeemer in Sarasota, Florida, for 15 years prior to his election as Bishop. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and The General Theological Seminary in New York City.

He married his high-school sweetheart, Donna, in 1968. They have three daughters and four grandchildren.

The Bishop has been awarded honorary Doctor of Divinity Degrees from Nashotah House Seminary, the University of the South, and the General Theological Seminary. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Forward in Faith North America and the American Anglican Council. In his free time, he enjoys long walks, reading, and beach visits.

 
  Father Brian Chase, Rector

Father Brian Chase, Rector

Father Brian was raised in the Ohio Valley and began as rector of Church of the Good Shepherd in January 2016 after church planting in Canton, Ohio.

He graduated with his undergraduate degree in Bible and Theology from Malone University in Canton, Ohio, and with a Masters of Divinity, with an emphasis in Anglican Studies, from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, Massachusetts. 

Fr. Brian is married to Amy, who has made many indispensable contributions to his work in ministry and he is ever grateful for her continuous guidance and support. They have three wonderful children, Alaina, Alex, and Eli, who can be seen recessing with him at the end of church on many Sunday mornings. 

He is excited about all the love and dedication he sees in the people of this wonderful parish.

Forster is the Director of Music at Church of the Good Shepherd. As the organist and choirmaster at Church of the Good Shepherd for almost 25 years, Forster has had the distinct pleasure of serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, leading volunteer youth, and adults of all ages in praising God with their voices and many talents.

Forster was born a Buffalo, New Yorker, graduated with a B.A. from Occidental College in Los Angeles, and with an M.A. in Sacred Music from San Francisco Theological Seminary,
and spent two additional years doing Graduate Studies at the University of Southern California. 

Before coming to Good Shepherd, he was Assistant Professor of Voice and Choral Music at Park College in Parkville, Missouri and Associate Professor of Choral Music at Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri.
 
Forster is married to Helen, a retired RN, and they have three grown children.

Sheri is the Office Manager at Church of the Good Shepherd.  She handles all the financial affairs for the church and, being a retired CPA, she really enjoys the work. She also does any other jobs that need to be done around the office, from bulletin stuffing to filing.

According to Sheri, the friendships she has made since working at the church are the best part of her job. She felt at home right away when she began at Good Shepherd and says that she could not ask for a better group of people to work with and for.

  Rick Fenlaw Senior Warden

Rick was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas where he was a member of the Longhorn football team. After college, Rick played in the NFL, but suffered a career-ending injury. Since then, he has been in the oil and gas business, and currently is the owner of Rick Fenlaw & Associates, a petroleum land service company.

Rick has previously served on the vestry at Church of the Good Shepherd, and has been involved in flower delivery, the annual election day luncheon, special church events and the rummage sale.

After marrying Robin, he joined the Anglican church and has grown to love the comfort of the liturgy as well as weekly communion and the fellowship at Good Shepherd. Rick and Robin have three grown children; Frank, Meredith and Molly.

 
  John Skelton Junior Warden

John has been a member of Church of the Good Shepherd since 2003. He has served at the 7:30 service as an acolyte, lector, lay reader, lay eucharistic visitor, and 

John came to Good Shepherd searching for a church home. Over time, he found that he liked being at church, which was a feeling that he hadn't felt in a long while. 

John is well-suited for the office of Junior Warden: he has over 30 years experience in management, and has experience in woodworking, basic electricity, and carpentry.

He hopes to continue to see young families making Good Shepherd their church home for years to come.

Gayla has been a member of Good Shepherd since 2002. She has served as president and secretary of the Daughters of the King and Daughters of the Holy Cross. She was a member of the Vision Committee and the committee for the selection of a new priest, and was an alternate for the Ft Worth diocesan convention in 2015.

Currently, Gayla serves as a lector, acolyte, lay reader, subdeacon, and member of the altar guild and vestry. She worships at Good Shepherd for the traditional spirit-filled liturgy.

Rodney is retired after a wonderful career as a professor at Midwestern State University and has been a member of the Church of Good Shepherd since 2008. Rodney serves as a lay reader for Sunday services.

His first exposure to Good Shepherd was during a period in his life when he was searching for a more complete spiritual experience than what he felt was offered by several protestant denominations where he had worshipped previously.  

Good Shepherd provided for Rodney that spiritual completeness, the communion of a worshipful family and a Godly presence, that he had not found elsewhere. Rodney thanks Jesus every day for guiding him to this sanctuary for his soul.

Greg is known by many at Good Shepherd as "Pop." He is retired 20 years USAF 1995, Master Instructor, 362 Training Squadron, Sheppard AFB, TX. He teaches Technical Training on Aircraft Maintenance Fundamentals to Basic trainees and some Cross-trainees that come to Sheppard for their career. 

Pop has worn many hats at Good Shepherd. He has served as an usher, chairman of the Men of Good Shepherd, and chair of Christian Education. His latest project has been organizing a softball tournament fundraiser to send youth to Camp Crucis. 

Pop worships at Good Shepherd for the love and support that this church is willing to give to anyone who enters our church. He remembers being a newcomer to Anglicanism, and not knowing when to bow or kneel, but when parishioners came up to him and his family and welcomed them with open, loving arms, he felt like he was home. He loves that the people of Good Shepherd warmly welcome anyone who needs to be closer to God.

Carol has been a member of Church of the Good Shepherd since 2008. She currently serves as a lay catechist.  

After years of searching other denominations, Carol was 29 years old before she found myself at home in the Anglican faith. She loves Anglicanism!

Carol hopes to see our parish grow strong and become a thriving community with a spirit of family among its parishioners and a deep reverence for the presence of God among us.

Val has been a member of Church of the Good Shepherd since 2014. He currently serves as an usher. He has also ministered at the parish baking cakes and making soup for the Election
Day bazaar, and helping decorate the church for Christmas. 

Val was born and raised in Brownsville, PA, and trained at The School of American Ballet in New York and Pittsburg Ballet Theater. He has also had an extensive career with Texas Ballet Theater in Fort Worth and Cincinnati Ballet. He previously worked as Dean of the Cincinnati Ballet Otto M. Budig Academy. 

He is currently the Executive Director of the Wichita Falls Ballet Theater, and still may be seen portraying Drosselmeyer in the Nutcracker every December.

His life is guided by the inspiration of his daughters Gabriella and Adaline and the support of his wife, Mishic. 

Val looks forward to seeing our historical church to flourish for generations to come. 

Jan has been an Episcopalian since 1974 and a member of Good Shepherd since 2005.  She has served on the Altar Guild, ECW, Greeters, Library Guild, Bazaar, Election Day soup team, Bible and book study groups, Sunday morning Coffee Servers, and on a Breakfast Team.

Jan was born and raised in Wichita Falls, attended public schools here, and studied at Texas Tech, University of Texas, and North Texas State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She is now retired after teaching in Dallas ISD, The Episcopal Elementary School in Wichita Falls, and Wichita Falls ISD. She also worked at Midwestern State University as Assistant to the Dean in the College of Fine Arts.

She volunteers with various women’s groups, the “Read 2 Learn” tutoring program, and enjoys traveling and spending time with her son and daughter, their spouses, and five grandchildren.

Jan enjoys everything about Good Shepherd, especially the beauty of our solemn, spirit-filled worship and music, excellent Christian Ed, service projects, and fellowship with our church family.

Mary is currently serving on the Parish Ministry and Fellowship committee. She also is involved in maintaining the church library.

Amy is the Catechist for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and her greatest joy is in listening to God with the children.

She graduated summa cum laude from Malone University in Canton, Ohio, with a Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Arts and studied Psychology, Communications, English, and Bible/Theology.  She has  built websites and other promotional materials for the churches she has served alongside her husband, Father Brian.

She worked as an assistant in a Montessori school while her children were in preschool in Ohio, and currently works in the Registrar’s Office at Midwestern State University.

Amy was raised in a non-denominational church and first fell in love with the Anglican/Episcopal liturgy by way of the beautiful music. She loves the kind people of Good Shepherd and is so glad to have such a wonderful church family in Texas to be the community in which her children grow.

Sarah has been part of Church of the Good Shepherd since March 2012, and loves working with children and watching them grow in faith and love for one another.

Her primary responsibilities include coordinating volunteers for the nursery, Little Lambs, and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and ensuring our compliance with Ministry Safe policies. 

Before coming to Church of the Good Shepherd, Sarah was a nursery volunteer and summer camp counselor.

In her spare time, Sarah leads a thriving Girl Scout troop, and she enjoys fishing and being with her family. 

Her hope for the future of Good Shepherd is that we would continue to grow.

Kimberley began attending Church of the Good Shepherd in 2017 as a nursery worker. She serves in this capacity because she wants to guide and mold kids into productive members of society. 

Kimberley is a current student at Midwestern State University, and is pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Math. She has an Associates in Math and Psychology from Dominica State College. 

Kimberley's hobbies are designing, decorating, and drawing. She hopes to have a great impact in the lives of the members of our parish.
